In Central Uganda, Vibrant Village Foundation is working together with three local nonprofits to improve livelihoods for women and children, many who have been affected by HIV/AIDS.
In Mukono District, we work in the villages of Namasumbi, Nabale and Nyanja. Our partner, community-based Empower and Care Organization (EACO), provides physical and psychosocial support to marginalized women, vulnerable children and orphans and the elderly. With support from Vibrant Village Foundation, EACO is constructing and repairing boreholes in three communities to provide safe access to water.
In the neighboring Wakiso District on Lake Victoria, home of the Buganda Kingdom, we partner with two Uganda-based organizations. Eco-Agric works to train young women on viable trades and supports agricultural development for female heads of households in the village of Kitukutwe. Bega kwa Bega works in four villages in the Wakiso District and strives to improve access to clean water and agricultural livelihoods through training and business support.
